Have you ever wondered what it’s like to control a temperature four times higher than the surface of the Sun? ☀️For most people, welding is just a burst of blinding sparks, blue light, and a loud hiss. But from a welder’s perspective, it’s pure magic, physics, and art encapsulated in a few seconds of concentration.
What does this process actually involve?
Contrary to appearances, welding is not simply sticking metal together. It’s something far more powerful.
1️⃣ Harnessing lightning: Using electricity, we create a controlled electric arc.
2️⃣ Liquid state: Under the influence of intense heat, the edges of two steel components begin to melt. They turn into what is known as a ‘weld pool.’
3️⃣ New life: The welder introduces a filler material (e.g., a melting wire) into this area, which mixes with the molten metal.
4️⃣ An eternal bond: When the arc goes out, the metal cools in a fraction of a second. The joint that forms becomes a uniform, unbreakable monolith.
It’s an incredible feeling when, with precise hand movements, millimeter by millimeter, you transform rock-hard steel into a flowing river and then join it together for eternity.
Our team of talented welders is characterized by patience and resilience in the face of extreme conditions. They create magic combined with surgical precision.
It is a craft in which a fraction of a millimeter’s error determines whether a structure will withstand the weight of many tonnes.
In Gipo, welders shoulder the weight of responsibility every day; they are the bond that joins not only metals but also people. Their hard work is the essential link that holds the whole company together. Like the welds they create, our team is strong, precise, and resilient.
A good welder must be a metallurgist, a chemist, and a mathematician. They must know how acid-resistant steel behaves and how aluminium reacts at a temperature of 3000°C. They must be able to read technical drawings perfectly and predict how the metal will ‘shrink’ as it cools.
This role requires not only a tough character and resilience but also, above all, exceptional spatial intelligence and craft skills. That’s why in Gipo we hold the role of welder in the highest regard. They are our masters of fire and sparks who guarantee that what we produce will last for decades. 🦾 🔥
The invisible backbone of the world. In Gipo, we combine craft skills with engineering expertise, offering precision and aesthetics of the highest standard to create new projects for our business partners.
